Ingredients:
1/3 of Basic Roll Dough recipe (1241)
1 tsp grated lemon rind
6 Tbsp soft butter
1 egg
beaten slightly
1 cup sugar
1 cup ground blanched almonds
1/2 cup fine bread crumbs
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 F. Butter a 10-inch pan. Roll dough into a thin rectangle 15 x 12 inches. Mix lemon rind with 6 Tbsp of butter and use to spread over dough. Cut into thre strips each 12NULL x 5NULL. Place on top of each other. Roll to original size. Mix filling well. Spread on dough; roll as for jelly roll. Bring ends together to farom ring and place in prepared pan. Snip almost through dough at one inch intervals with kitchen shears; twist each section slightly. Brush with melted butter. Let rise about 30 minutes. Bake 35-45 minutes.
